Spring has sprung, which means summer is right around the corner. Now is the perfect time to build that in-ground pool you have always wanted. But what will that project involve? How expensive is an in-ground pool? How long will construction take? Will a pool increase my property value? Do I Need a Pool Fence?
Hercules Fence of Manassas, Virginia has the answer for the last question, at least. Residential swimming pools in Northern Virginia are subjected to the following Pool Fence Laws: Section 421.10.1 BOCA National Building Code.

All gates need to open outward and should be equipped with a self-latching mechanism.
Additional restrictions include:
- Maximum mesh size for chain link fences is 1-1/4 square inches.
- All doors with direct access to the pool need to be equipped with an alarm that sounds no more than 7 seconds after the door is opened and should sound continuously for a minimum of 30 seconds.
